Alexander works in GJE’s IT and Engineering group. He has particular experience with drafting new patent applications and prosecuting them in the UK, Europe and internationally. As well as this, Alexander is frequently involved in opposition proceedings before the EPO and has advised clients on infringement and invalidity matters.
Alexander works with a range of clients, from individual inventors, start-ups and SMEs all the way to large companies both in the UK and internationally, providing advice tailored to their specific needs.
In his spare time, Alexander enjoys playing the piano, singing in choirs, and has a particular passion for bouldering and parkour.

Alexander studied at Oxford University where he received a First-Class Master’s Degree in Physics. His final year project related to implementing Bragg spectroscopy to probe ultra-cold Erbium atoms. Additionally, he received an award from the university for his presentation on the (surprisingly complicated) mathematics behind tuning pianos. Alexander qualified as both a Chartered and European Patent Attorney in 2024. Alexander joined the firm in 2020 as a trainee and was promoted to associate in 2024.
