Brenna is part of the Chemistry and Life Sciences group.  Her work involves patent prosecution, drafting, and providing advice on patent portfolio strategy.  She also has a particular interest in contentious matters, especially oppositions before the European Patent Office.

Brenna is an active member of GJE’s Diversity & Inclusion group, and is also a trained Mental Health First Aider.

Outside of work, Brenna has an interest in Irish dancing and portrait painting.  She loves to travel and previously spent 10 months exploring South America following a chemistry research placement at the Universidad National del Sur in Argentina.

Brenna graduated from the University of Glasgow with a First Class Honours Degree in Chemistry, and was awarded the Lorimer prize for the highest GPA.

Brenna also obtained a Master’s degree in Management of Intellectual Property with Distinction from Queen Mary, University of London, as a recipient of the Herschel Smith scholarship.

Brenna qualified as both a European and UK Patent Attorney in 2023. Brenna joined GJE in 2019 as a trainee and was promoted to Associate in 2023. Prior to this, she trained for several months in the IP department of a biopharmaceutical company that develop CAR T-cell therapies for the treatment of cancer.
